The National Fellowship of Chaplains & Volunteers exists to help establish, promote, and encourage chaplains and volunteers in their individual calling under God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
This is a national fellowship of Evangelical Chaplains & Volunteers serving in various ministries such as jails, prisons, hospitals, parks, campuses, sheriff & police chaplains, etc. Our purpose is to establish relationship through fellowship and encouragement by building a close bond between Evangelical Christians serving in this way.
the qualifications for joining this national fellowship would be: (1) that one have a personal relationship, through authentic faith, in our Lord Jesus Christ; (2) Must have proven themself well in the facilty in which they are or have served; (3) Be firmly committed to a local church; (4) and as a chaplain commissioned, licensed, or ordained by his church or through a reputable Christian organization such as the Evangelical Church Alliance (ECA); (5) hold to the doctrinal statement; (6) Exhibit and maintain an unquestioable moral character, a humble spirit, and integrity in service and life.
As of now the Fellowship does not financially support chaplains or volunteer. In the future this could change. However, the present support of chaplains is provided through self support and volunteering their service;or through a mission organizations set up for this purpose; or through a local church missions fund; or through individuals as any missionary might be supported.
Many state and federal institution would not qualify individuals as chaplains because they would not meet the secular qualifications demanded. Coming in through a Fellowship of this nature would open the door of service by providing Evangelical Christians with the avenue to serve under an alternative form of organization either as a salaried chaplain, volunteer chaplain or as a chaplain volunteer.
